Lip Syncs and Face Masks: Chrissy Teigen’s Guide to Effortless Beauty

Chrissy Teigen, the queen of sassy tweets and mouth-watering recipes, has also been serving us some serious beauty looks alongside her famous cravings. It’s not just her cooking that’s got us hooked, but her flawless complexion and the effortless glam that she brings to every Instagram post and red carpet strut. Just like her unique recipes, Chrissy has her own secret ingredients for that perfect glow.

It’s not just about the high-end labels, though; Chrissy loves mixing it up with accessible brands, striking that delectable balance between luxury and practicality. While we can’t all whip up a bestselling cookbook or tweet our way into millions of hearts, we can certainly take a leaf out of Chrissy’s beauty book.

“I will admit I am def proud of my skin lately and feeling myself!” says Teigen. Though when going through her skincare routine she revealed she uses “whatever is closest,” she does have one constant: “The IS clinical cleanser and the lotion is the only thing I use consistently and they’ve always been so good to me.”

Another staple? Sunscreen. Teigen says she uses Control Corrective’s Oil-Free SPF 30, which was recommended to her by her aesthetician, Shani Darden, who also has her own skincare line. Teigen’s fave from her products is the Shani Darden Skin Care Retinol Reform Treatment Serum. “Every single time I do it, the night before, I get compliments the entire next day on my skin. So, it never fails, as long as I remember to do it.”

I’m actually crazy about [skincare] when I’m on an airplane or something. When I travel is when I take the best care of my skin because I have all the time in the world.

did you know?

As most skincare buffs (or anyone with, well, skin) knows, blackheads can be super annoying. Chrissy Teigen says she works to eliminate hers with a “steady stream” of Bioré chin and nose strips. “We like to pull these off, slowly, and then tilt them towards the light so I can see each little mountain, each tiny mountain. And then We like to take my finger and brush the blackheads to the side so I can see their length. That concludes my story, entitled, ‘If Hannibal Lecter Loved Bioré Nose Strips.’ Thank you.” LOL.” While we appreciate her humor (and obsession), users need to be careful of over-use. They can actually make your pores enlarged. “I’m always wary of pore strips because while they [may] be fun, you risk damaging the skin and thus, [making] your pores bigger,” says dermatologist Jennifer Herrmann, MD.

Brow Game Strong: Chrissy Teigen’s Evolution from Pluck to Perfection

In 2021 Chrissy Teigen raised eyebrows (literally) when she revealed that she had undergone a eyebrow transplant surgery.

“I never wear makeup if I can avoid it so I was excited for this eyebrow transplant surgery where they take hairs from the back of your head!!” she shared, alongside a post-surgery snap, tagging her doctors @drjasondiamond and @drjasonchampagne.

She recently gave us a sneak peek into her post-transplant brow-care routine, pictured (left). “Time for my haircut,” she quipped, as her now-lusciously thick eyebrows received a trim and some brow gel finesse.

This procedure, for the uninitiated, involves relocating hairs from the back of the head to the eyebrows. Patients can expect a recovery period of about two weeks, during which some redness and swelling are common. The transplanted hair initially falls out, but then starts to grow back over the next few months, leading to the fuller, natural-looking brows Chrissy now flaunts. It’s like giving your brows a second chance at life. Chrissy, in her post-procedure glory, cautioned her followers against overplucking with a heartfelt “do not pluck them all off like I did!!”

Dr. Jason Diamond, one of the masterminds behind Chrissy’s brow renaissance, echoed her sentiments on Instagram. He emphasized how eyebrows are pivotal in framing the eyes and shaping the facial aesthetic. His advice? Eyebrow transplantation, a process meticulously tailored in shape and density, can rescue generations tormented by the trend of overplucking or natural thinning.

While Chrissy didn’t specify the price tag of her transformation, eyebrow transplants typically range from $3,000 to $8,000, depending on the complexity and desired density.
